About Visionaries

Imaginative, genius, wise, misunderstood - what makes a person a Visionary? BBC World’s new series examines the worlds of art, music, architecture, science and literature, and endeavours to find out what sets these people apart from their contemporaries.
You will get your chance to debate and decide who you think is the most Visionary, from our line up of innovative thinkers throughout history.

  • Each episode starting from September features two figures from each category.
  • You will be persuaded to vote by celebrity advocates (shown below in brackets) who will argue the case for their chosen Visionary.
  • You can vote here online to decide the winners who will be announced in a special programme on October 20th.

Check out the Visionaries profiles pages to find out more and cast your vote.
